On Sunday July 28, 2024, we hosted an exclusive in-person presentation for our BOOTSTRAP members at our new Tukwila facility. The event featured a comprehensive history of SDF and an exciting outlook on the hopeful future of the Interim Computer Museum. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our dedicated supporters and discuss a vision for the museum's growth and impact. June 30, 2024

We're excited to announce that the HP9000/715 computer, affectionately known as 'hkypux', is now up and running in our new Tukwila facility. This machine operates on HP/UX 10.20 and features the PArisc architecture, adding a valuable asset to our collection of vintage systems. With the addition of 'hkypux', we now have three hosts at this location: "three", a Sun 3/160; "indy", an SGI R5000; and "hkypux", our newly operational HP9000/715. This growing array of hosts enhances our capability to provide hands-on experiences and enrich our educational programs. Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to expand and improve our offerings.

SDF.ORG Acquires Remote Systems Program and Software Preservation programs from Living Computers: Museum+Lab

June 27, 2024

We've taken on the Remote Systems and Software Preservation programs program from the Living Computers: Museum+Labs and have transitioned a number of them to be accessible via ssh menu@tty.sdf.org. This includes an ANSI BBS and several other vintage systems. Some hardware will take more time to get into place as they have special power requirements we need to accommodate. Your patience and support during this time is appreciated. Additionally, the community wiki has been imported and we're asking existing contributors to help clean things up. We'll update pictures as necessary. You can access the wiki at https://wiki.sdf.org. Discussion about both can be done via 'museum-l@sdf.org', which you can subscribe to by sending 'subscribe museum-l' in an email to majordomo@sdf.org. Archive browsing of this list will be made available via the web soon!
